Direct Power Control for Three-Level Multifunctional Voltage Source Inverter of PV Systems Using a Simplified Super-Twisting Algorithm

This study proposes a simplified super-twisting algorithm (SSTA) control strategy for improving the power quality of grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) systems. Some issues are considered in this including factor, reducing total harmonic distortion (THD) current, compensating reactive power, and injecting at same time energy supplied by PV system into grid considering non-linear load. improvement is achieved two topologies; controlling both boost DC–DC converter DC–AC inverter that links to grid. The controlled using proportional-integral (PI) SSTA maximize generated from panel regardless its normal abnormal conditions, while employed direct with modified space vector modulation phase-locked loop (PLL) technique three-level neutral-point-clamped (NPC) based on proposed strategies (PI SSTA). In addition, shunt active filter (SAPF) used connect AC feed To validate simulation results presented paper Matlab software, comparative between PI controller presented. show effectiveness moderation suggested terms feasibility, tracking performance, less ripple, dynamic response, THD value, overshoot, steady-state error, robustness under varying irradiation, temperature, conditions.
